Volkshochschule Stuttgart is a licensed examination center and offers exams and tests at different levels of the "Common European Framework of Reference for Languages" from A1 to C2.


Goethe-Zertifikat A1: Start Deutsch 1

For whom is the Goethe exam suitable?
The Goethe Certificate A1 is valid as proof of basic knowledge of German for spouses immigrating to Germany.
You prove that you can communicate in German in the simplest possible way. Requirement: around 120-150 teaching units.

When does the exam take place?
Exam: 22.03.24 – Registration deadline: 01.03.24
Exam: 21.06.24 – Registration deadline: 31.05.24

What does the exam cost?
The test fee for vhs participants is EUR 75.00 (for external EUR 100.00).

Goethe-Zertifikat B2

For whom is the Goethe exam suitable?
With this test you can prove your German language skills at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

When does the exam take place?
Exam: 04.05.24 – Registration deadline: 30.03.24
Exam: 29.06.24 – Registration deadline: 25.05.24

What does the exam cost?
The test fee for vhs participants is EUR 155.00 (for external EUR 200.00)

Goethe-Zertifikat C1

For whom is the Goethe exam suitable?
The exam is recognized by employers as proof of very solid general German language skills because of its high level of recognition around the world.

When does the exam take place?
Exam: 08.06.24 – Registration deadline: 03.05.24

What does the exam cost?
The test fee for vhs participants is EUR 175.00 (for external EUR 250.00)

Niveau B1: telc 

For whom is the TELC B1 suitable?
For self-payer. The TELC B1 exam is a final language test for participants not funded by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees. It enables you to prove your actual language competence B1 at the end of the language course.

When does the exam take place?
Exam: 06.04.24 – Registration deadline: 06.03.24
Exam: 06.07.24 – Registration deadline: 06.06.24

What does the exam cost?
The examination fee is EUR 195.00 and cannot be reduced. Withdrawal from the test after registration deadline is not possible.

TestDaF

For whom is TestDaF suitable?
TestDaF is a standardized language test approved worldwide and recognized by all German universities.
TestDaF is particularly suitable

  • for foreign applicants who want to study in Germany and need proof of their German language skills,
  • for students who have to prove their knowledge of German in their home country,
  • for all interested parties who want to acquire a qualified language certificate

When does the exam take place?
Exam: 12.03.24
Registration period: 01.11.2023 – 08.02.2024  online at: www.testdaf.de

Exam: 16.05.24
Registration period: 02.01.2024 – 18.04.2024 online at: www.testdaf.de

Exam: 17.07.24
Registration period: 02.01.2024 – 13.06.2024 online at: www.testdaf.de

What does the exam cost?
The test fee is EUR 195.00

How can I register?
Registration and payment of the test fee can only be done online at: www.testdaf.de
Please note the specified registration times, as there are only limited places available. After the registration deadline, you will receive an admission letter with "Rules for the exam day" for download in the TestDaF Institute's participant portal. Bring the letter of admission and your passport / identity card with you to the exam.

Einbürgerungstest / Citizenship test

For whom is the Naturalization test suitable?
As part of your naturalization application, in addition to proof of sufficient knowledge of German, you must also take a naturalization test.
This test will test your knowledge of the legal and social order and the living conditions in Germany.

Attention: The BAMF offers another option for obtaining the evidence required for naturalization: You can also attend an integration course and acquire the "Integration Course Certificate". Part of the integration course is also a 100 hour orientation course, which also covers topics from the naturalization test and is concluded with the test “Living in Germany”. More at www.bamf.de

When does the exam take place?
Exam: 06.04.24 – Registration deadline: 26.02.24
Exam: 18.05.24 – Registration deadline: 12.04.24
Exam: 20.07.24 – Registration deadline: 31.05.24

What does the exam cost?
The exam fee is EUR 25.00.
Withdrawal from the test is not possible. Rebooking to another exam date is possible up to the respective registration deadline.

Registration for the naturalization test takes place at the information desk on the ground floor at TREFFPUNKT Rotebühlplatz 28, 70173 Stuttgart.
Please bring your identity card / passport with you when registering and taking the test.

Test zum Orientierungskurs „Leben in Deutschland“

For whom is the Test „Leben in Deutschland“ suitable?
The test format „Leben in Deutschland“ corresponds to the naturalization test and lasts 1 hour. It offers the participants of the orientation course the opportunity to prove the knowledge required for the naturalization procedure.

When does the exam take place?
There are only a few places available for the test. Please send inquiries to
deutsch@vhs-stuttgart.de

What does the exam cost?
The test is free of charge for integration participants who are already attending the orientation course as part of the integration course.
The test fee for self-payers is EUR 25.00.
Please note: It is not possible to withdraw from the test.

How can I register?
Registration is currently only possible through the German and Integration Department.
