Integration

What is the integration course?
The integration courses are language courses aimed at all immigrants who speak little or no German and who will live in Germany permanently. They are carried out on behalf of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) and funded with federal funds. Further information can be found at www.bamf.de.

Content of an integration course
Each integration course consists of a language course and an orientation course and leads to language level B1.
The language course usually lasts 600 units. People who do not speak the Latin alphabet can attend a literacy course with 1000 units. The acquisition of German language skills takes place on the basis of everyday content such as work and profession, shopping, living, health or offices and authorities.
The “German test for immigrants” is taken after the language course.
In the orientation course, which consists of 100 lessons and is attended after the language course, you get to know Germany. Knowledge of the German legal system, history and culture, the rights and obligations in Germany, the forms of coexistence in society and the values ??that are important in Germany are imparted. The orientation course concludes with the “Living in Germany” test.
If the language test is not passed, the integration course can be repeated with a total of 300 teaching hours.
